To
apply a different theme to a site, open the Site Settings page, as
explained earlier. In the Look and Feel section of the page, click the
Site Theme link. This selection opens a page that enables you to pick a
theme for the site (see Figure 1).
When
you click the available options for themes in the box, the image next
to it is changed to show the color scheme used by the theme, with
examples of what hyperlinks, headings, and body text look like in the
theme.
In a subsite, you can choose to inherit the theme from the parent site (the default behavior) or specify a different theme.
If no theme uses the color
scheme you want, you can choose the theme that is closest to what you
want and then use the Customize Theme section of the page to specify the
colors you want to change. For example, you can specify that you want
the heading to be in a different font than the built-in scheme.
Modifying these options doesn’t modify the built-in theme; the
customized theme is only applied to the site. You can reset a theme back
to the original by choosing Default Theme.
To preview the site with the
new theme, click the Preview button. A dialog appears, showing how the
site looks with the chosen configuration. To apply the theme, click the
Apply button. You can also select to have the theme applied to all
subsites of the current site. If you choose this option, any subsite
that has a different theme is reset to inherit the theme you selected
and customized.
